Pushed In Nose
Dogs such as bulldogs, pugs, chows, and shih tzus have some of the most prominently pushed in noses, though for a majority of breeds, the nose has been getting shorter over time. Having a short and pudgy nose can make it harder for the dog to breathe and more difficult to smell. As dogs' noses have gotten shorter, the brain has actually rotated in the skull causing the part that interprets smell to be further to the back than usual so it is harder for dogs to interpret their surroundings. This can place them in great danger. |
